I Use My Affirmation Deck Every Morning
Barring anything going on, I look at an affirmation card every morning. Every morning I wake up to one or the other of my kids waking me up (we’re almost to the point where we get full nights of sleep!) and after coffee, I work out, and I look at a card.
It really has the ability to set the tone for the day, and usually, also alert you of what’s going on in your life. Depending on the card you pull you may have a positive or a negative reaction to what it says and it shows you what is healed, and what needs healing.
For instance, pulling the card ‘I am grateful for my bright future’ may make you say, ‘Yes! I am!’. That’s your indication that you’re on the right path, that you feel happy with the way your life is headed.
An affirmation a day keeps the doctor away?
I just made that up but it sounds good, right? Truthfully, I am not a doctor, nor do I regularly see one. There have been times in my life that I have and times that I have not but I can say with 100% honesty that affirmation cards do help me to stay out of the doctor’s office and into the moment.
It can be difficult, life, love, relationships. I recently listened to an inspirational woman that I speak of often, and her experience with negative criticism.
There was a thread of people all bashing her and her work, and she became so obsessed with it that she fell into a funk. Don’t let others rain on your parade my friend!
You may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you shouldn’t be! Not everyone is yours either, and that is okay. But those times that you get down, having a routine with affirmation cards can help you!
So how do you set up a routine?
Well, for starters, routines are huge in helping regulate your mood and your life. I was not pushed growing up to have a routine, but as an adult, I generally hate breaking my routine. There may be some underlying OCD there that plays a part for my sake, but that’s okay too!
Again, I am not a doctor, but you should have general predictability to your life. It helps with knowing what comes next in your day or your week, which helps keep you calm and less frantic.
Find the time of day, and the location you are most likely to pick up the affirmation deck. When I was still working this was probably my office, I spent pockets of time there and I could be zen usually for the second I was there. Now that I’m home I keep them on my nightstand because when I go to work out I do those first before grabbing the weights.
Be sure to also have other routine’s to help regulate your mood.
