If you’ve been following me lately you know that I have been on a Gabby Bernstein kick! But for good reason! As I have made my journey from depressed and anxious to a more enlightened version of myself, Gabby Bernstein has proven to be a vital guide.
While I have spent the better part of my life connecting negative thought patterns and behaviors to each other, I have spent this last bit rewiring those connections. What that means is that more often than not I will think negatively first, and now I’m working on changing that. By using the ‘choose-again method’ that I learned from Gabby Bernstein, I’m working on making my mindset positively wired.
Your mindset is your reality.
Just as you are what you eat you are what you think. If you’re looking for things to be bad, then that is what you will see. However, if you are looking at the bright side of life you will see that.
I never used to never see the bright side of anything. It was a lot of dark and dreary in my world, but what I didn’t realize was that not only was I only seeing the negative, I was also manifesting more negative.
If you take a look at Hicks’ emotional scale you can see that negative emotions are at the bottom and positive ones are at the top. Have you ever been in a room with a negative person? You may have felt their negativity from a mile away. That’s what the universe is picking up on too. And like attracts like.
So what is this magical mindset shift?
It’s simple really, and it has a catchy way to remember it, 3 R’s. First, you have to recognize the feeling, second, you have to record it, and third is to release it. I know it’s not as easy as it sounds but with time and practice it is incredibly effective.
What it looks like in practice is sort of like this. Imagine you are with that negative person, place, or thing that always triggers your bad move. Start by recognizing that this thing makes you feel that way, honor it by recording it with something like, ‘thank you blank for showing me what I don’t want,’ and then release it by focusing on something positive.
For instance, I have felt triggered by someone relaying negative information to me. My natural reaction was negative but I said that I wanted to be a bigger person than that, so I made a mental note of it and I focused on the nice person who relayed the information to me. And this can be done with all sorts of negative things, most especially the negative thoughts that pop up millions of times throughout my day.
Start controlling your mind not letting your mind control you.
I am a firm believer that you can control your future if you let yourself. But I also believe that the universe will throw as many obstacles as it can to make sure you really want what you’re after.
That was and still is the inspiration for this blog. There are lots of obstacles that will take you for a ride and plenty more that will completely sideline you but it’s all about pivoting. I hope that these tips help you pivot your mindset so you can live your best life.
