How I diversified my income for National Entrepreneur Day and how you can too! Without losing your sanity that is.

When I was genuinely introduced to entrepreneurship I didn’t even recognize it for what it was. A guy I knew and his brother ran a t-shirt company, but that wasn’t all they did, and so I never thought about it twice. I did know they had a lot of free time, much more than my 50 hours a week plus school full-time, and I knew I wanted that. But how?
Until I was introduced to a direct sales company, one I knew existed because a woman in town drove the signature car, but I didn’t understand it. When my best friend’s mom told me she was a part of it I said, hey that sounds like what I’ve been looking for!
Except when I was asked to go out and chit-chat with people I blanched. That wasn’t my cup of tea, but it did introduce me to the world of being an entrepreneur. That was my cup of tea! Here are the sources of income I have acquired for National Entrepreneur Day
National Entrepreneur Day involves having influence.
The concept kind of goes hand in hand. No one will buy your stuff without being able to see the reviews and trust your brand. Therefore, by working towards building that trust you’re also gaining influence.
Like the Oprah effect, when Oprah recommends something, people are likely to buy it. How does Oprah monetize what she recommends? She can suggest affiliate links, stuff she made herself, or maybe she doesn’t make money at all.
People buy what she’s selling because they buy into her. Because she is seen as reliable, trustworthy, and if she says it’s good people believe her. When building your own business, keep in mind that people are going to need to know, like, and trust you before they buy you.
You should have an online presence as on National Entrepreneur Day.
The days of marketing your business with flyers and ads in newspapers are pretty much over. Should you still do those forms? Of course! Especially if you’re a local business providing a service. National Entrepreneur Day celebrates all different kinds of entrepreneurs!
But you need to have an online presence too unless maybe you’re only targeting the generation that is against the internet. Therefore a blog is a great way to create an online presence and build trust with your audience. Why? Because a blog is a great way to provide free value to your audience! And everyone likes free.
It takes a while to build trust, like an hourglass you will start with a lot of people and slowly weed through them to get to the best of the people that like you, which then grows to more. Once you’ve established an audience in your niche you can monetize a blog with sponsored posts, working with brands that align with you and your mission.
You can also place ads on your blog, promote affiliate links, and eventually create your own products. Keep in mind that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your empire be. Focus on doing what you can do, and then focus on what you dream about doing and build the skills you need to get there.
Courses, books, physical products, oh my!
It’s like a recipe, you start with working with what you’ve got, which is likely only a few social media accounts. You make those accounts into creator or business accounts and you start providing free value on whatever niche you’ve chosen. For whatever business you have you need a niche and National Entrepreneur Day is a great time to build your online presence!
Then you add your website and promote your free material on your website with your social media presence. Once you have your people that like, know, and trust you, you can pitch to brands to pay you to promote their products. You can accept free products in exchange for promoting them as well because everyone loves free!
Then when you have enough of a following you can place ads on your blog or your social media account like YouTube, to make money for you while you just keep providing value to your audience. Some of what you promote can (and should) be affiliate links where you get paid when your audience gets whatever it is you’re promoting with a special link.
Finally, you can teach other people what it is that you do! Maybe it’s related to what you’re learning here, or maybe it has to do with whatever free value you provide. You can create a course, a membership, or sell a workbook. Look up other ways to make money on National Entrepreneur Day!
Create your own products.
Please create your own products! It’s such a great way to build trust and keep more of the money that you’re making! Plus I think it’s a wonderful way to express yourself and work through whatever limiting beliefs you may still have related to your life and your business.
Plus when you have something you created yourself you can create your own shop on your social media accounts. And after you have a big enough following you can monetize directly with certain social media accounts! Instagram will pay you for creating reels and on Facebook you can do instant articles and more!
